About Academic Advising

The University of Arizona is a large institution, with 35,000 students supported by 12,000 faculty and staff. While it’s easy to feel lost in the crowd, the University’s large size also means you have every resource you might need to successfully navigate your way to graduation. The first and most important resources available to you are the academic advisors in your home department. While a student at UA, you will have contact with one main advisor, who will help guide you through the process and warn you of hurdles you might not see coming. You should see your departmental advisor at least once a year.
