The Awards, celebrating the 50th year of the world’s largest, oldest and most prestigious nature photography competition, were presented by Sir David Attenborough and HRH Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, at a black tie gala ceremony in London’s Natural History Museum.

This is Badyaev’s third Winner title in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competitions.
